Payment Holiday
Payment Holiday Terms & Conditions | Effective date 1 July 2026
For Payment Holidays approved by Splend prior to this date, please see here.
Payment Holidays are here to support you if you are taking a break from driving and working. If eligible you may apply for a Payment Holiday, subject to the approval of Splend in its discretion. To request a payment holiday, you must contact the Customer Service team either by phone, or by email.
Eligibility Criteria
No more than one ( 1 ) failed payment that was not settled within 24 hours, in the last 12 weeks
A crash probability score of less than or equal to 12.0
Payment Holiday Contribution
During the Payment Holiday you will be required to pay $99 of your normal weekly fee, in advance. The Payment Holiday Contribution does not include any kilometres beyond the first 300km or ancillary charges such as toll charges. Any additional kilometres or ancillary charges incurred during this period will be included in the next scheduled payment.
If you fail to pay the Payment Holiday Contribution for a given week, then the Payment Holiday for that week is voided (and you will be liable for the full weekly subscription amount for that week).
Payment Holiday Vehicle Usage
Payment Holidays are designed to give you a break from driving and working. If you are planning on driving a lot of working, a Payment Holiday is not going to be a good option
During the Payment Holiday, you can drive the vehicle up to 300km within a single week (Monday to Sunday)
Should you exceed the 300km limit per week while within your Payment Holiday period, you will be billed $0.55 per km driven above
Payment Holiday Quantity
Flexi Own customers will become eligible for consideration for 2-week of Payment Holidays (subject to approval by Splend) after 12 months, or six ( 6 ) months if your Flexi Own Agreement is for four ( 4 ) years and contained a minimum term.
Every six ( 6 ) months thereafter, you will be eligible for another 2-week of Payment Holidays
The total limit of Payment Holidays is capped to 4 weeks within any 12-month period once you become eligible.
Eligible Payment Holidays cannot be carried over to the following 12-months
Payment Holidays apply from the Monday to Sunday, after the billing date where the Payment Holiday Contribution was billed.
Payment Holidays can only be taken in weekly increments, and not days.
Requesting a Payment Holiday
To request a Payment Holiday, you must contact Splend’s Customer Service team by either telephone, or email.
The Customer Service team will confirm your eligibility and subject to internal approval, will send you a Payment Holiday Addendum. This outlines the terms and conditions, dates of the Payment Holiday(s) requested, and must be signed and returned within 24 hours. These Payment Holiday Terms and Conditions operate in parallel with the Payment Holiday Addendum, but the latter takes priority in the event of any conflict.
Payment Holiday requests must be made at least one week before the Payment Holiday is due to start.
The final date to request a Payment Holiday is the Sunday before the next billing date.
Payment Holidays cannot be cancelled less than one ( 1 ) week before the Payment Holiday week is due to begin.
Payment Holiday Extends your Flexi Own Term
Your Flexi Own Agreement will extend by the number of weeks of your Payment Holiday. You will be required to pay your ordinary weekly subscription amount during this extension period, however, your final week’s payment will be reduced to the extent of any Payment Holiday Contribution Fees paid.
Early Termination of Agreement & Non-Break Period
If you (or Splend) choose to terminate the Agreement before the end of the full term, in addition to any other amounts, you will be charged your weekly payments for the period of the Payment Holiday (less PH Contribution Fees).
When receiving a Payment Holiday, you agree to not return your vehicle for a period of time after the Payment Holiday. For each week of Payment Holiday taken, a 12-week "Non-Break Period" will apply at the end of the Payment Holiday.
If you (or Splend) terminate the agreement during this period, you will incur a Non-Break Fee of $2,000. Cancellation after this period will not incur this fee, however, other fees and charges may apply. Full details are set out in your Flexi Own Agreement and the Payment Holiday Addendum.
Further details are set out in the Payment Holiday Addendum.
For each week of Payment Holiday taken, a 12-week Non-Break Period will apply from the end of the Payment Holiday Period, or as otherwise agreed.
If you terminate your Flexi Own Agreement (or if Splend terminates for breaching the terms of your Flexi Own Agreement) during the Non-Break Period, you will incur a Non-Break Fee of $2,000. This Non-Break Fee represents a genuine pre-estimate of Splend's losses and costs in connection with the arranging, coordination, and implementation of the Payment Holiday and associated administrative and operational costs. Further details are set out in the Payment Holiday Addendum.
