You must be 23+; hold a current valid full Australian driving licence; be an approved rideshare driver on the Uber X platform. Vehicle eligibility may depend on professional driving history. If you are new to rideshare we can help guide you through the application process.
Late-model Rideshare-ready vehicles, including a range of Electric Vehicles (EVs), Hybrid vehicles, as well as selected Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles. Vehicles are available that are suitable for Uber categories like Uber Max, Uber XL, Uber Comfort Electric, Uber Comfort or Uber Green*. Splend can recommend models right for you based on cost and earning potential. If you want to own, Flexi Own offers similar inclusions plus a road to ownership at term end. When you're ready to upgrade to a Flexi Own vehicle, contact Customer Support to choose a Flexi Own vehicle. A Flexi Own setup fee applies but is discounted by the Flexi Try setup fee already paid. When your new vehicle is ready, Splend will schedule delivery and the return of your Flexi Try car. You may also choose to convert the plan for your current Flexi Try vehicle to Flexi Own but paying the additional Flexi Own Ste up fee. Flexi Own offers similar inclusions to Flexi Try but offers a path to vehicle ownership.
Flexi Try startup costs include:
A one‑time setup fee (non‑refundable, not a deposit);
A pro‑rata payment for your weekly payment for the rest of the week of collection (up to Sunday);
A first full week billed in advance for the next week.

In addition to the car, the Flexi Try plan covers your vehicle registration, rideshare loss and damage cover, scheduled servicing, replacement tyres and brakes (up to specified limits) and 24/7 roadside assistance.*

Yes. Scheduled servicing, replacement for wear of brakes and tyres (up to specified limits) and repairs under manufacturer warranty are covered. Other items (e.g., bodywork, glass repairs, tyre punctures) are your responsibility. Please refer to the Flexi Try Agreement for full details.
You must follow the manufacturer schedule (depending on vehicle this is typically every 10,000-15,000 kilometres). Complete each service within 1000km of being due; allow up to 1 working day off‑road. Additional repairs such as punctures, wheel alignments or panel damage not covered by scheduled servicing that occur while the vehicle is in your possession may be chargeable; contact Customer Service if unsure.
We operate in accordance with the Australian Finance Industry Association (AFIA) Fair Wear and Tear Guide. We accept wear and tear that is reasonable given your car’s age/mileage. Damage outside fair wear & tear must be repaired at your cost.
Damage to your tyres beyond normal wear including punctures will not be covered by the replacement tyres in your package. Tyres and rims must not be damaged beyond normal wear as defined in the Australian Finance Industry Association (AFIA) Fair Wear and Tear Guide when the car is returned. Any such damage must be repaired at your cost.
Windscreen damage isn’t covered under the subscription or Loss & Damage cover. Windscreen damage includes scratches, chipping, cracks, holes or damage . All such damage may affect the roadworthy status of the vehicle and may subsequently worsen over time. Book a repair promptly at your cost to prevent further damage.
Normal‑wear replacement of tyres, brake pads and brake discs are included up to the limits stated in your contract.
Call 1800 775 363 for 24/7 roadside assistance (e.g. flat or faulty battery, emergency fuel, flat tyres, towing, unlocking).
Flat/punctured tyres are not covered by the manufacturer's warranty, replacement tyres due to wear, or the Loss and Damage cover. If you get a puncture, you will need to arrange to have the tyre replaced at your cost. Roadside assistance is available if required by calling 1800 775 363.
Returns are assessed under the AFIA Fair Wear and Tear Guide; reasonable wear for age/mileage is accepted. Fair Wear and Tear excludes any scratch where the metal, plastic or undercoat is exposed.
Your agreement includes a weekly driving allowance. Excess mileage above this weekly limit is charged at $1 per 10km.
Payments are taken weekly, every Wednesday night for the following Monday - Sunday week (charged one week in advance).
If You don't pay your weekly payments you will be charged a Failed Payment Fee of $40. Contact the payments team if you think you may miss a payment — alternative payment arrangements may be possible. Continued non‑payment can lead to termination and charges (including minimum‑period fees).
Yes, Splend reserves the right to change its Flexi Try plan pricing. Your weekly fee is subject to additional fees for unpaid toll fees or fines (including an administration fee), late payment fees if your weekly payment is not paid on time and additional kilometre charges for kilometers over your weekly allowance. Your Flexi Try Agreement contains the full details.
Give two weeks’ written notice per your service agreement to Customer Service. Fees may apply. Please see the Flexi Try Agreement for full details.
If the car returns in the same condition as onboarding (allowing for fair wear & tear), and after the minimum term of your agreement no return fee applies. Re‑charging/cleaning and damage beyond fair wear and tear are chargeable. Fees may apply. Please see the Flexi Try Agreement for full details.
For early return within the minimum term or if you don’t have Payout Protection, break fees apply which will vary depending on your contract. The notice period in your contract still applies. Fees may apply speak to our sales team or look at your contract for details.
Try before you buy
Flexi Try comes with all the on-road inclusions of Flexi Own, except you don’t own your car at the end.
