Splend Terms and Conditions

Your arrangement with Splend will be documented in a written agreement. The below provides further information regarding specific fees which apply to your agreement with Splend. If you have any questions, please get in contact with us at 1800 775 363.

Splend’s Flexi-Own Agreement (for customers from 1 October 2025)*

Payout Protection Fee
  • What is the Payout Protection Fee? The Payout Protection Fee is a small weekly fee payable in order to have the Termination Amount (our break early fee) waived in the event of early termination, so long as such termination does not occur within the first 12 months of your Flexi-Own 2.0 Agreement with Splend. There may be other applicable fees upon termination (for instance if the vehicle was damaged) – check the Flexi-Own 2.0 Agreement for further details.

  • Is the Payout Protection Fee mandatory? The Payout Protection Fee will apply to all Flexi-Own 2.0 customers, unless one of the available exemptions apply. If one exemption applies, then the Payout Protection Fee will be optional. Those exemptions are (you will need to provide documentary evidence):

    • Completed over 5,000 rideshare trips; OR (you will need to demonstrate this in an App/s)’ OR

    • Meaningful proven history of chauffeur work, subject to Splend's discretion. (you will need to provide a copy of a relevant contract or invoices); OR

    • Meaningful proven history of buying & selling multiple vehicles, subject to Splend's discretion (you will need to provide documentary evidence such as car loan statements); OR

    • Evidence of owning your own home (you will need to provide documentary evidence such as a Mortgage Statement); OR

    • Meaningful and consistent evidence of separate income provided and approved, subject to Splend's discretion (you will need to provide documentary evidence such as payslips or PAYG summary/statements); OR

    • Provide a credit check to Splend’s reasonable satisfaction and approval

  • How much does it cost? The Payout Protection Fee is a weekly payment ranging from $10-$30 per week based on vehicle class. Customers who are paying the Payout Protection Fee, can choose to remove it after 3 years.

Splend Management Fee
  • What is the Splend Management Fee? The Splend Management Fee is a new small weekly fee of ($35 incl GST) for Splend to manage and administer the relationship between the you, Splend, and your third party insurer (if you have one). This fee is waived if the you elect to take out Part C Loss & Damage Cover with Splend, or if Splend otherwise agrees to waive this Fee in the circumstances.

Loss and Damage Cover, Loss and Damage Waiver and Loss and Damage Waiver Reduction Fee

If you have chosen to include Loss and Damage Cover as part of your Flexi-Own Agreement with Splend, then, as noted above, you not be liable for the Splend Management Fee. For more information on our Loss and Damage Cover, please see our FAQ’s or speak with our team at 1800 775 363.

  • What are the relevant costs?  The Loss and Damage Cover comprises the following costs:

  1. Loss and Damage Payment – this is a weekly payment and represents the “cost” of the coverage / indemnification we provide in the event of an accident or other loss – this will vary depending on your vehicle, so speak with our team at 1800 775 363 to find out more.

  2. Loss and Damage Waiver – this payment is $1,500 and is required for Splend to waive its rights to seek recovery from the customer in the event of damage or loss (subject to the terms and conditions of the Flexi-Own 2.0 Agreement) so that the customer can get the vehicle back on the road as soon as possible because Splend will handle the rest.

  3. Loss and Damage Waiver Reduction Fee – optional weekly payment, payable by the customer to Splend, which reduces the Loss and Damage Waiver payable by the event of an Accident or damage to the vehicle. This will vary depending on your vehicle, so speak with our team at 1800 775 363 to find out more.

  • Set-Up Fee

Splend charges a one-off Set-Up Fee of $990 for New Flexi Own Plans or $495 for Pre-Owned Flexi Own Plans as payment to cover Splend’s genuine pre-estimate of its costs in connection with setting you up on our systems and related administrative tasks and ordering your Vehicle. The Set-Up Fee is non-refundable. If Splend cannot provide your Vehicle within one month of the Estimated Delivery Date (as set out in your Quote), you can request the Set-Up Fee to be refunded. It will be refunded within 7 days of receiving your bank details. Any Set-Up Fee paid in relation to your vehicle is not transferable to another vehicle.

There may be other fees and charges which will only apply in certain circumstances, such as a fee when you miss a payment or when you wish to add an additional driver. Details of all such additional possible fees are set out in the Flexi-Own Agreement which will be provided to you when you sign a Quote with Splend. Splend Flexi-Try Agreement

Set-Up Fee
  • Splend charges a one-off Set-Up Fee of $295 as payment to cover Splend’s genuine pre-estimate of its costs in connection with setting you up on our systems and related administrative tasks and ordering your Vehicle.
